The location of this live webcam in Singapore is the southern part of the business district of this metropolis, which is traditionally called the Downtown of Singapore. The centerpiece of this webcam is a cylindrical skyscraper, which is currently called the AXA Tower. This tower can not boast of an ultra-modern view, but at the time of construction, and this is already distant 1986, the building looked truly impressive. However, even in present days this is not a faceless building at all, because as of 2019 it is the 16th highest in all of Singapore and is still the tallest building of a cylindrical shape in the whole world.

Using this Singapore webcam, we can only see the central part of the tower, which has a height of 52 floors. The total height of the building is almost 235 meters (or 770 feet), and 16 two-floor elevators are used to climb the tower. Initially, the state treasury of Singapore was located in the tower, so it was called the Treasury tower. However, later the treasury changed the address, and in 2007 a new owner appeared at the building and it was renamed AXA Tower. Another interesting historical fact is that for some time the office of the famous Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, was located in the building, thanks to which Singapore became one of the most successful countries in the world.

Since the webcam is located high above the ground level and it is turned in a southerly direction, we can see the coastline of Singapore and the Singapore Strait. This is one of the busiest straits in Asia, so there are many ships at any time of the day or night and at any time of the year. And on the right you can see a part of the port of Singapore – one of the largest in the world. The port of Singapore for a long time was in the first position in terms of cargo turnover and only in 2005 the port of Shanghai managed to overtake the port of Singapore in this indicator. And in absolute size and tonnage of ships, the port of Singapore has been a world leader for more than 20 years. By the way, with the help of this webcam, you can see that giant dry cargo ships periodically enter the port, and the size of which cargo ships is impressive even against the background of Singapore’s skyscrapers. The webcam, which SingReef provides, runs around the clock, but the best time to watch is a short daylight hours in Singapore. Enjoy watching!
