In the central part of the square, just in front of the webcam, there is a large sculpture with a fountain. This is a monument to the national hero of the Czech Republic, which was the main ideologist of the Czech Reformation, priest, preacher, and one of the greatest scholars of his time. In the summer of 1415 Jan Hus he was executed by the Inquisition by burning, and with the preacher were burned all its scientific papers. There were on the main town square and other people’s death. For example, in 1621 there were executed knights and representatives of the Czech nobility, which made preparation and participation in the uprising against the Habsburgs. If you look at this webcam in the winter, you should be able to see installed in the central part of the area of Christmas tree. In winter, the area of special fairs are held, and in the summer many cafes and restaurants in the Old Town Square are filled with tourists and locals.

In the background in the frame, you can see another of the symbols of the city – Tyn Church. The construction of this magnificent Catholic Cathedral was conducted over 160 years and was completed in the 14th century. The two asymmetrical towers of Tyn Cathedral towering over the town on 80 meters. Unfortunately, with the help of the Prague webcam you can not see the spiers of the towers that are striking in their beauty and in the afternoon, and at night (there is a beautiful night lighting). Currently,  inside the temple can be seen pewter baptismal font, made in 1414, the statue of the Madonna with Child in her arms (1420) and the oldest in the city musical organ. In the cathedral’s crypt is the tomb of the famous astronomer from Denmark – Tycho Brahe. The webcam, which provided by Lippert Hotel, working around the clock. I wish you all enjoy watching!
